Meet our musicians: Mandie Ramon…
Mandie Ramon
Instrument(s): Clarinet
First performance with the band: December 12, 2010
What I like most about playing: I enjoy moving people with the music we make. I also enjoy the mental stimulation that playing a musical instrument provides.
My favorite musical memory: One of my favorite musical memories is being a part of the Oregon Ambassadors of Music and traveling Europe for two weeks. While it was amazing to travel and play with a unique group of musicians, I also was able to get to know our conductor and his wife, as they were the chaperones on my bus.
A fun fact about myself: I love working and being around older adults and have a Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology, the study of older adults and the aging process. I’ve worked in long term care communities for 13 years and love it.
Three words I would use to describe Salem Symphonic Winds: Diverse, Talented, Ambitious
